The Bénézit dictionary quotes Libero in these terms:
« Libero (Libero Mazzone, said), painter born in Barcelona April 7th, 1937 (Spain). He spent his childhood in Sicily and frequented the School of Art of Palermo. He participated in different collective exhibitions to Messine ( 1957 ), Rome ( 1959 ), Pise ( 1960 ). In 1963, he becomes established to Varèse and teaches the drawing. In 1964, he settles down on Côte d'Azur and exposes in Nice ( 1968 ), Menton 1968-1969), Beaulieu-sur-Mer whose Museum keeps one of its works. He is especially a landscape painter and a portrait painter, a sculptor. He lives at present in Bordeaux. »
